Our Team

Seongseok Yun MD PhD

Position: Principal Investigator

Following the completion of his MD degree at the Seoul National University, South Korea, Dr. Yun earned his PhD degree at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He underwent internal medicine residency training at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, and hematology and oncology fellowship training at the Moffitt Caner Center. As a physician-scientist with clinical and basic research expertise in hematologic malignancies, Dr. Yun’s scientific career is dedicated to identifying and targeting molecular circuits that contribute to the development, maintenance, drug-induced cytotoxicity, and resistance of blood cancers. Dr. Yun and his laboratory are supported by generous funding from National Cancer Institute, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Southeast Trust, and the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Nicole D. Vincelette PhD

Position: Research Instructor

Dr. Vincelette received her BS degree at the University of Norther Colorado, Greeley, CO, and PhD degree at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Dr. Vincelette completed her Post-doc training at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Her research goals are to understand the molecular mechanisms and genetic determinants that contribute to the development, maintenance, and therapeutic response of hematological malignancies, with the goal to identify targets that are suitable for therapeutic intervention. Dr. Vincelette’s research is currently being supported by “Scholar Award, Fellow to Faculty” from American Society of Hematology, and she was recently awarded the NCI K22 Award.

Daehyun Lee MD

Position: Assistant Professor

Dr. Lee is a junior physician-scientist in cardiology passionate about cardio-oncology-related research. He completed medical school at Inha University, South Korea, followed by Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease clinical training at the University of South Florida. His primary research focus centers on exploring the intricate relationship between clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminant potential and cardiovascular disease in cancer patients. Dr. Lee’s research is currently being supported by American Heart Association (AHA) Career Development Award and Casey DeSantis Florida Cancer Innovation Fund.

Sura-Attha Umsangtongkul BS

Position: Graduate Student

Sura-attha “Wynn” Umasangtongkul is currently a PhD candidate in the Cancer Biology program at Moffitt. Wynn is originally from Thailand. He first came to the U.S. as a high school exchange student in WI, where he continued his undergraduate education and completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Since joining our lab in 2024, Wynn is particularly interested in studying MDS/MPN-U, a rare myeloid disorder with no available FDA-approved treatment. His work focuses on defining the roles of oncogenes and epigenetic regulators in MDS/MPN-U pathogenesis.
