  • What Skillset is Required to be Considered as a Post-doc Candidate in Yun lab?

    While we prefer candidates with experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, ChIP, flow-cytometry, RNA-seq, and animal studies, we also welcome candidates with other skillsets.

  • What is the Hiring Process?

  • Do You Accept Clinical Fellows and Residents?

    Yes, we accept USF/Moffitt interns, residents, and hematology and oncology clinical fellows who are interested in laboratory-based research, with a focus on hematologic malignancies.

  • Do You Accept Visiting Scholars with PhD and/or MD Degrees?

    Yes, we accept visiting scholars. Detailed information is provided by the Office of Undergraduate and Visiting Scholar Affairs.

PhD or MD/PhD Application

  • How to Apply for PhD Candidate Positions at Yun Lab?

    If you are interested in the PhD program, please visit the Moffitt Cancer Biology website. Before joining the Yun Lab, you must first apply to the USF graduate school or the Moffitt Cancer Biology program to become a graduate student. After completing two years of coursework, you will be eligible to apply for the Yun Lab.

  • How to Apply for MD/PhD Candidate Positions at Yun Lab?

    If you are interested in the MD/PhD program, please visit the USF MD/PhD program website. Before joining the Yun Lab, you must first apply to the USF MD/PhD program to become a MD/PhD student. After completing two years of medical school coursework, you will be eligible to apply for the Yun Lab.

  • What Skillset is Required to be Considered as a PhD or MD/PhD Candidate in Yun lab?

    While we prefer candidates with experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, ChIP, flow-cytometry, RNA-seq, and animal studies, these are not mandatory. We welcome any candidate with a passion for cancer biology.

Career Development

  • How Does Yun Lab Support the Career Development of PhD or MD/PhD Students and Post-docs?

    All lab members participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with the PI, as well as weekly lab meeting, and quarterly joint lab meetings with other labs (e.g., Cleveland Lab, Padron Lab, Perna Lab) at Moffitt. Additionally, we offer formal grant writing workshop and encourage all lab members to apply for both intramural and extramural grants. Moreover, we foster collaboration with our partners in academia and industry worldwide. Despite Yun Lab’s relatively short history, former lab members have successfully transitioned into various career stages, including Assistant Professorships, Clinical Fellowship, and positions in Industry.

  • What Funding Opportunities Does Moffitt Offer to Post-docs?

    Moffitt provides various intramural fundings, including Junior Scientist Research Partnership, Miles for Moffitt Post-doc Award, and Research Instructor Designation. Additionally, Moffitt supports post-docs in applying for extramural fundings such as NIH, LLS, ASH, AACR, ASCO, ACS, and many others. The Yun Lab has a strong track record of receiving awards from these funding sources.
